Nature Community: From Luxury Hotel to Vegan Ecovillage for 70 People

Located in Bavaria, the Nature Community has transformed a former tourist resort into a shining example of solidarity and sustainability. In this article, we explore their lifestyle, rooted in harmony with the environment, the promotion of ethical living, and inclusivity for humans, animals, and nature alike.

The Story of the Nature Community

The Nature Community is nestled in Bavaria, near the border with the Czech Republic. What was once considered "the end of the world" from both sides is now home to a vibrant community of 60 adults, 15 children, and several dogs and cats.

The project started in 2016 with a vision shared by a group of determined individuals who wanted to create a space to live in harmony. After acquiring a luxury holiday village, they renovated it to establish a cutting-edge eco-community.

The goal was clear from the outset: to create a place where people could grow together by embracing ecological living practices. Through their lifestyle, the residents of the Nature Community aim to contribute to a world where all beings live in peace, trust, freedom, joy, and connection.

The Core Values of the Nature Community

The Nature Community is a special place where everyone is warmly welcomed. Here, deep relationships are built on trust, mutual respect, and a connection with nature. Each day is an opportunity to share ideas, plan projects, and enjoy vegan meals made from fresh, local ingredients.

Living in this community means adopting a responsible and inclusive lifestyle, where every decision is made with mindfulness and respect for the environment and others. It’s a way to move away from the anthropocentric model that dominates modern society, which places humans above the natural balance. Instead, a holistic vision is promoted here, where humanity is seen as an integral part of a greater ecosystem.

In the Nature Community, another core value is collaboration: every member actively contributes to community life, sharing their skills, ideas, and energy. It’s not just about sharing spaces but also values and common goals, creating an enriching exchange for everyone involved. This philosophy of participation and interdependence has fostered an environment where personal and collective growth go hand in hand.

A Vision for a Sustainable World

At the Nature Community, imagining a better future is a daily mission carried out through the use of renewable energy, the promotion of a vegan lifestyle, and the conservation of natural resources. Every action, no matter how small, contributes to a larger shared dream: living in harmony with Mother Nature and one another.

For this reason, every member of the community commits daily to reducing their environmental impact and spreading a message of positive change, aiming to provide a model that not only inspires others but can also be easily replicated in communities around the world.

A Vegan and Eco-Friendly Lifestyle

Being part of the Nature Community means embracing a vegan lifestyle. It’s not just about eating plant-based food but also adopting practices rooted in respect for nature and all forms of life. This means using only eco-friendly and cruelty-free products, boycotting companies that don’t align with these values, minimizing waste, promoting creative reuse, and adopting sustainable solutions in everyday life.

The ecovillage doesn’t just practice these values but actively works to spread them. Through workshops, seminars, and online content, members share recipes, ideas, and practical tips to make veganism accessible and inspire anyone curious about this lifestyle. At the Nature Community, change isn’t seen as a sacrifice but as an exciting journey toward a more ethical, mindful, and joyful way of living.

Events and Projects

Daily life at the Nature Community is enriched by events like festivals brimming with music and colours, seminars that open minds to new knowledge, and retreats where people reconnect with themselves and nature.

During these events, the village comes alive with creative workshops, artisanal markets, and evenings under the stars that delight both kids and adults. The seminars offer opportunities to learn from experts in permaculture, sustainability, and personal growth. Meanwhile, the retreats celebrate the beauty of slowing down, with meditation, forest bathing, and shared meals.

Key projects include community gardens, permaculture courses, and vegan cooking workshops. These activities not only enhance the lives of members but also inspire visitors to embrace conscious living.

Community Spaces and Infrastructure

During the renovation of the hotel, the spaces were reimagined with care, preserving the original architecture while incorporating cutting-edge sustainable solutions.

Common areas are designed to encourage interaction and collaboration, while private spaces offer tranquil retreats for relaxation. This balance between privacy and community makes the ecovillage a perfect place to enjoy solitude or forge meaningful connections and develop new ideas.

Shared spaces include a restaurant serving vegan meals made from local and organic ingredients, multi-purpose rooms for events and seminars, a pool, a wellness area for relaxation, and lush green spaces designed with permaculture principles.

The Economic Model of the Nature Community

The Nature Community operates on a sustainable and collaborative economic model. Shared resources come from events, seminars, and entrepreneurial activities run by both the community and individual members. A common fund is used to cover collective expenses, while private funds from personal activities provide economic autonomy.

Each member contributes through their work and participates in financial planning, ensuring responsible and forward-thinking management. This model shows how sustainability, sharing, and independence can come together to create a balanced and self-sufficient economic system.
